  The Bible scholars would say you are comparing 3 versions of the same story and thus different early traditions of the interpretations of Jesus’ story. The different stories each have their own interpretations of early Greek philosophy worked into the story of the Messiah, so you can see a more pacifist, a more realist and a more mystical version of each story. You can see the same repeat in the rest of the story, where one will be more aggressive anti-Roman Jesus vs pacifist Jesus vs the Roman citizen Jesus.

  You can do simple math checks to see they aren’t reporting simply all deaths unrelated to the cause. Over an average year 40% of all deaths over the age of 45 will be related to cancer. There is no statistically significant representation of cancer as a potential primary cause in the data. The representation of heart disease in the data is also much higher by about 30% compared to the entire population.

  As of 2:30 PM CT on July 21, 2021, the CDC's website modified the number of VAERS reports related to COVID-19 vaccination deaths from 12,313 to 6,079

  But this isn’t just in the US. As of July 7, 2021, the UK’s Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) had received 456 Yellow Card reports of adverse drug reactions to the Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty) vaccine in which the patient died shortly after vaccination, 983 reports for the COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), and 7 for the COVID-19 Vaccine Moderna (SpikeVax).

  We see similar reports in Israel.

  That is 1500 deaths in a population of 30M vaccinated or 1 in 20,000. For comparison, the infection fatality rate for people under 55 ranges from 1 to 10 in 100,000 (that is, your chance of dying if you catch it). Your actual chance of both catching the disease and also dying is about 1 to 10 in 1M. To make it easy for you, the chance of dying from the vaccine is 50 in 1M. Even if you believe half the cases are false, that still doesn’t make sense to take the vaccine. The error rate would have to be 5-10 (aka an order of magnitude off) which again, these are medical professionals reporting it.

  If we then take in account real world efficacy of 64% for the Pfizer vaccine (source once again Israel and widely reported from Reuters), this does not cut in favor of receiving the vaccine if you are under 55.

  @Jeffro: once again, you are being intellectually dishonest. At the time I wrote that, the tally was 12,000 people in the database. Suddenly the Biden admin dropped 6000 cases from its databases. At this point, the database cannot be trusted to be accurate as dropping cases without explanation reeks of fraud, there are lawsuits claiming many thousands more through other sources.

  Once again, the VAERS database collects information that medical professionals believe to be potentially related to the safety of the vaccines. Are you saying medical professionals are lying? Why don’t you believe the doctors writing these reports? Last year you claimed to “believe all doctors when they say to wear a mask”. Yes, it cannot be conclusively linked, but the link to fatal heart problems has already been established and the database is collecting so much cases the computer systems behind it have been failing. Can you explain the sudden rise in reports? Every American gets vaccinated on average every 2 years, yet we’re seeing increases 10-fold for these vaccines?

  
  

  They have already paused the J&J vaccine due to confirmed fatalities and many countries are now stopping administration or considering stopping it due to the risk. Do you believe that the medical professionals were wrong? Why don’t you believe the scientists? Do you think we should administer vaccines to people even when the chance of death is higher from vaccination than receiving covid?

  And we are just talking death, there are other serious conditions that are also reported to both the CDC and FDA, orders of magnitude more.

  Here are some real world stats:

  The John Hopkins covid risk calculator says I have a 0.8 in a million chance of dying from the virus. The vaccine adverse effects database currently says 10,000 have died from the vaccine. If 2/3 of the country has the shots, and there are 330 million people in the country, then that works out to 45 deaths per million. So I would be an idiot to get the shot.

  Note that your risk may differ. The overall death rate from COVID is 0.07% or 700 deaths per million, but the majority of this (50%) are people over 80 and it is a bell curve from there. So the further you are removed from 80, the smaller the risk. If you graph it out, the cutover point where you become at equal or greater risk is ~57 years old. Then you can take in extra measures like BMI, current health conditions and that will adjust your risk so you really can’t do a single point analysis, which is what our politicians like to do - if you’re age x, do this. Do a proper multivariabele analysis on the data at the very least to measure your particular risk.

  Again, not saying no one should get the vaccine. If you are retired, you probably should get it. If you have cancer or HIV or you are extremely obese or have heart disease, get the shot.

  it’s better to put that money towards the worldwide work donations i always got told.

  so the best thing i ever got was johnny walker red back then (johnny walker is cheap blend).

  @wtwizard: I’ve done both, the expensive stuff is better in small amounts. Being shitfaced drunk gets old after about 3 days (at least for me) and stops being attractive when you wake up in vomit again. I’ve done it all after I left the dubs, as Solomon supposedly said:

  @jeffro: you are intentionally misreading the airborne pathogen route. The fact is that people who remained isolated got it. The majority of those however, are poor or elderly, live in apartment buildings or other shared housing complexes where air supplies are shared. Hence the Lancet indicating the virus can be found in air ducts where the only pathway is through the air.

  Not sure if you ever lived in those types of houses, social housing, section 8 apartments, assisted living, they tend to have a single air handler between multiple units to reduce costs. Yes, it’s hard to imagine for the left-wing elite, but there are people that don’t have control over their heating and cooling and its always 80 in the winter and 65 in the summer, the blower is even running in the hallways where plenty of people walk, the air circulates in a matter of minutes across all the space. I lived in those for my entire youth, being poor JWs and all.

  It’s also easy to verify the Lancet political leaning as they are one of the few medical journals that directly support and officially endorse left-wing politicians. It’s also the place that called for lockdowns and then retracted their own scientific papers, some published years ago on lockdowns being ineffective (published to endorse Obama’s lack of lockdowns during the H1N1 pandemic) and papers on hydroxychloroquin for the sole reason that the Trump admin referenced them. They also endorse terrorist groups in India and Israel, which is well outside the realm of medical science.

  
  

  I will also note your intellectually dishonest quote of the statistics. Within the age group of 0-18, the total number of deaths from COVID was < 300 for the entire 2 years we had this disease, the majority of those were already immunocompromised (eg. cancer, transplant patients, HIV etc). The VAERS reports of myocarditis and pericarditis which can lead to sudden and premature death currently stand at >1000 in the US. In Israel, one of the most vaccinated countries, they have 6000 cases amongst their young people. That is an often permanent heart disease to fight against a disease you would otherwise not die from at all. Extrapolating the current data, the COVID vaccines will kill as much or more young people than they save. Again, not talking about the elderly, not talking about high risk groups. Healthy, young people.

  In regards VAERS, they are by and large filed by medical professionals who have a reason to believe a link exists between the death and the vaccine, they include medical data that qualifies as a potential link. It’s not that you get in a car accident and you are reported in VAERS. For the first 3 months of COVID we had a “believe the healthcare professionals”, now when it comes to vaccination, we have “don’t believe the 40-60% of healthcare professionals that don’t vaccinate themselves and/or file reports and complaints”

  Even though it is a small number, my point is that the media is picking up reports around the globe in regards young people, who aren’t at risk getting or having adverse effects from COVID, developing problems after receiving the vaccine. Note that vaccinating these groups of people at this point in time is wholly unnecessary, and the drive for vaccination is purely based on threats and fear. Thus any excess death is caused by governments and a media with reporting that is killing people that wouldn’t have died otherwise. We don’t vaccinate for polio and a lot of other things when you get out of the womb, some vaccines are held back until you are 3 years old, while others are held back until you are a teenager, sexually actively, get in an accident or get to be of certain age. Because we know the long term risks of those vaccines, we have made these decisions in healthcare. These longitudinal studies don’t exist yet for the covid vaccines.

  I’m not a vaccine denier, I believe the vaccines work. But they carry a risk and for the elderly, that risk is lower than the risk of COVID, so if you are elderly, take it, it’s probably for the best. However if you’re under 55 and healthy, the risk of the vaccine is currently greater than COVID. That isn’t the message though.

  @me: freedom of speech indeed implies the freedom to yell fire in a crowded theater. The notion that you can’t was overturned by the Supreme Court a century ago.

  Putting limits on free speech because you don’t like the outcome has been the MO for the left since the advent of this country.

  If we had to listen to the left on everything from masks to vaccines, we’d have neither by now.

  Trump, Big Pharma and Capitalism is what made vaccines available to those that are at risk of the virus, and in that group 90% are currently vaccinated, vaccine hesitancy and government disinformation on the facts has been driven by Biden since before he even took office. Forcing a vaccine on people that by and large don’t need it is bad. Forcing masks and distancing after it has been know for nearly a year that it doesn’t work, is bad. That’s what people stand up for. Trump told us the blanket lockdowns were bad, he was right, Fauci knew it, the WHO knew it.
